This means that MIDI Track 3 receives sound from Channel 2 on the same StylusRMX plugin you have open (you could have multiple open, which could drain CPU). The first should be '1-StylusRMX' and the second should now be '2-StylusRMX'. The 'MIDI To' parameter should have 2 drop down menus for you to chose from. This means that MIDI Track 2 receives sound from Channel 1 on the StylusRMX plugin you have open.ĩ. The first should be '1-StylusRMX' and the second should also be '1-StylusRMX'. In RMX, under the MIXER tab, you will see the two sounds you have loaded on Channel 1 and 2. Notice: There should not be any MIDI files on MIDI Track 1 that has RMX on it you should see MIDI files on MIDI Track 2 and 3.ħ. Manipulate the MIDI file to what you want, then move that file onto Ableton's MIDI Track 3.Ħ. In RMX, load a sound on Channel 2, preferably a SNARE.ĥ. Click on the Stylus RMX plug in and Ableton will automatically open a new MIDI track 1 with Stylus RMX on it.Ģ. I will clarify the step by step procedure below controlling two different sounds:ġ.
Nunanmux was absolutely right on how to control each triggered sound on RMX using a custom made MIDI file on separate tracks on Ableton. They were probably really out-of-date, much like most of their tutorial videos. Like SkyZero said, it looks like Spectrasonics took down their HOST video tutorials for some reason. It was such a hassle getting Stylus RMX up and running with Ableton Live 8. Thanks for the info, but what if I just want all the elements on a single track? If I have 5 of the 8 possible elements armed within stylus and want all of that routed to a single track for recording, is that possible? Or does each of the 8 elements that are available for arming within Ableton required to be routed to a separate MIDI channel? Sorry, recently jumped from Logic to Ableton and it's like learning a whole new language it seems at times.
but to use more, you have to create a midi track for each element.
So in essence, you should not have any midi data for the track that has the RMX plug in (you can if your only using a single element of RMX). after that, another window below will prompt for which channel of the RMX you want to send the data to. for each midi track created in step 2, route the midi output to the track containing the RMX plug in. create a midi track for each part of RMX you haveģ.
